Girls Cross Country vs. Great Valley and Haverford

The girls stepped to the line on Friday afternoon and the skies opened up just before the gun went off to start the race. A downpour was not going to hold the girls back and they shot to the lead a quarter mile into the race. Despite a wrong turn at mile 2, Gina Mattera lead the charge for the girls and finished 3rd overall followed by Morgan Chmielenski, Sarah Mathewson, Maddie hughes and Anna Holt to round out our top 5.
In a tight race the girls squeaked past Great Valley 27-29 (low score wins) and ran past Haverford 19-37. The girls are 2-0 entering their only home meet this season against Governor Mifflin, Fleetwood and Schuylkill Valley on Tuesday.
