Athletic Hall of Fame Procedures

Purpose

The purpose of the Twin Valley School District Athletic Hall of Fame is to recognize and honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the Twin Valley athletic program or who have distinguished themselves through outstanding athletic achievement.

Eligibility

· Student-Athletes: Graduates of Twin Valley High School who have graduated a minimum of five (5) years prior to nomination.

· Coaches: Individuals who have served as a Twin Valley coach for ten (10) or more years.

· Administrators and Community Members: Individuals who have provided extraordinary service and support to the Twin Valley athletic program for ten (10) or more years.

Selection Criteria

· Student-athletes who earned First or Second Team All-State recognition, won an individual state championship, achieved collegiate or national prominence, received comparable athletic honors, or demonstrated exceptional performance during their era.

· Coaches, administrators, or community members whose leadership, dedication, and service significantly enhanced the Twin Valley athletic program.

· Other individuals who, in the judgment of the Hall of Fame Selection Committee, have made outstanding contributions to Twin Valley athletics.

Nomination Process

1. Each year, the Athletic Director, in collaboration with the District Administration, shall establish the Hall of Fame timeline, including the nomination period, review and selection period, and induction ceremony timeline.

2. Nominations may be submitted by community members, current Hall of Fame members, district employees, alumni, or other interested individuals during the established nomination period.

3. Each nomination must include sufficient biographical information documenting the nominee's athletic accomplishments or extraordinary service to the Twin Valley athletic program.

4. Upon the close of the nomination period, the Athletics Department shall compile and verify all eligible nominations for consideration by the Hall of Fame Selection Committee.

Hall of Fame Selection Committee

· Three (3) District Administration representatives;

· Three (3) Board-appointed representatives;

· The Athletic Director.

Review and Selection Process

1. The Hall of Fame Selection Committee shall review all eligible nominations based on the established eligibility and selection criteria.

2. The Hall of Fame Selection Committee may select up to three (3) inductees annually.

3. The decisions of the Hall of Fame Selection Committee shall be final.

Recognition

1. Inductees shall be formally recognized during a Hall of Fame ceremony at a date and location determined by the Athletic Director and District Administration.

2. Current Hall of Fame members, District administrators, and up to ten (10) invited family members or guests per inductee shall be invited to attend the ceremony. Additional guests may be approved by the District Administration based on venue capacity and special circumstances.

Program Administration

The Athletics Department shall administer the nomination, selection, and induction process in accordance with these procedures.

Funding

Expenses associated with the Twin Valley School District Athletic Hall of Fame, including induction and recognition activities, shall be funded through the Twin Valley School District and/or the Athletics Department, subject to budgetary approval.
